Your credit may be reported negatively if your account is considered past due based on credit reporting guidelines. Here’s what you need to know:
When we report late payments:
- For personal credit, we report an account as late starting at 30 days past due.
- For business credit, we report an account as late starting at 10 days past due.
Who we report to:
- For personal credit: Experian, Equifax, TransUnion
- For business credit: Experian Business, PayNet by Equifax
Common reasons for a past-due status:
- A payment was not received by the due date and remained unpaid beyond the reporting threshold.
- Processing delays if a payment was made very close to the due date (it can take a few business days for funds to clear).
Once your payment is processed, your credit report will update accordingly.
If you believe your credit was reported in error or have questions about your account status, you can dispute directly with any of the bureaus where the information appears. Detailed guidance on how to file a dispute is available from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
When you file a dispute, the bureau will notify AOF through the e‑OSCAR system — the standardized platform used by data furnishers (like AOF) to review and respond to credit disputes.
